If it says avoid alcohol then it's probably a good idea to avoid it!! I'm not trying to be preachy here, but talking from experience!

I tried a glass of wine with dinner one might and I felt so sick I had to go to bed, leaving my partner to entertain my sister and her partner!

I can manage half a glass of beer, but nothing stronger.

I'm not on the same meds as you but I'd go easy on it if I were you!

take care of you xx

Hi Isabeljane, an interesting question! :) Just for everyone else's benefit BuTrans patches contain the active ingredient buprenorphine, which is a type of medicine called an opioid analgesic (painkiller). It is a strong painkiller related to morphine.

It wouldn't be advisable to drink any alcohol whilst on Bu Trans patches as with most medications they can cause drowsiness and dizziness, however this may be more severe with the patches. It's not worth risking. :)

hi im on brutrans&if you mix booze with them one drink&your drunk, slury, dizzy&makes me feel sick,i have one sometimes but not regular, honestly its better to buy non alchol, lots of different things to drink, just be carefull if you decide to try any hugsx

Hi i am on 20 mg butans and no way would i drink i have not had alcohol for few years now and that was before i had the patches but justwith my other meds i would avoid it as silly to make yourself really ill the best thing to do is try the low alchol one or the no alchol shloer or similar or just really weskin the wine with lots and lots of soda water maybe but if you dont really want or need it i would jus avoid it

i go out every nrew yerar and i just drink tap water at the hotel and for the meal i do go madand have ice and slice though as it is new year

but the very best bit is being able to drive yourself home no expensive taxis and getting to bed feeling normal well apart from the fibro and geting up the next day with no hangover or any other ill effects lol

love to you diddle x

if it says to avoid alcohol surely it mean exactly that!

Sorry if I am stating the obvious here, but just imagining what the effects would be, would be enough!

Please take care xx
