Oh poor you. I was awake at 5 uncomfortable n achy. Couldn't sleep. Didn't think to go on here. Good idea. Next time I will! Perhaps there should be a awake-in-the-middle-of-the-night forum, that we could take off daily digest. Hope you can nap today to catch up a bit.

I have a book at side of bed -called the WOMAN who stayed in bed for a year.
havent started yet as have just got new glasses (wrong prescription)
Got a magazine at wknd and have managed to look at the big pics....not been able to read for years. Gave away hundreds of unread books to charity shops before i moved house. Keeeeeeep reading : )

Have just finished this book, its brilliant, try and read it if you can. I struggled to read for years with the lack of concentration and memory lapses after being an avid reader so i kept trying to get back into it. Can't read as quickly as i used to and sometimes have to re-read last paragraph from night before but i'm so glad i persevered. It's suprising how many chapters you can get through when you're awake most of the night.

I finally managed to get to sleep at around 4 am and woke again at 4.55 am. I do all of the things recommended to aid a good nights sleep, take a plethora of prescribed medication, take Zivadol and use an Alpha Sim micro-current stimulator. Nothing works! I frequently go 48 hours without sleep and then only sleep for around 3 hours when I do finally nod off. The dangerous consequence of this chronic lack of sleep is that I keep falling asleep, instantaneously, without warning, whilst standing up and have had some nasty falls!

I've had trouble sleeping too and this morning the pain was awful...i wonder if it's got anything to do with the weather? I heard it can be worse around adverse weather patterns, I'm not sure why....

Mrsvalentine - I read the woman who went to bed for a year. It wasn't very good but was very easy reading, so good to read as distraction from pain.
Has anyone read 'overcoming chronic pain'? Any good? It's CBT based.

Hi I feel I'm answering this too late and too early..... I got about 2 hours sleep last night and know that the same thing will happen again tonight. Pain levels all over the place and I have tinnitus which is nearly driving me up the wall as no matter what I do or don't do, it's there, a high pitched ringing/buzzing. Does anyone else get this? If so what is there that you can do or the to stop or ease it, at this rate I will be locked up soon, as its really driving me mad, put that together with lack of sleep and I really am at the end of my tether . sorry for the whinge, and hope you all have a better night tonight.
